Sunny greetings from Dar es Salaam!

At the end of last month we were once again on a work trip in Mwanza and Shinyanga. We attended the opening ceremony of Shinyanga youth center where Danny held a speech as the representative of Fida international. Unfortunately, during the trip we broke our camera. Luckily we have been able to gather some pictures from friends.

Benjamin is growing quickly. He crawls everywhere eating little ants and chewing on shoes. He has also found the stairs. Benjy is already standing up against things and takes steps with support. The little fellow keeps us busy. At the moment he weighs 10kg and is 74cm tall.

Electricity (or the lack of it) is a huge problem in Tanzania. In the city of Dar es Salaam electricity outages amount to 12 hours a day. We have a generator at our compound that produces electricity during the days. However, the use of the generator is being regulated and each day we have a period of two hours with no power.

We have been happy to have visitors from our church in Oulu, Finland. Kaarina and Samuli Ahonen spent a few days with us visiting the Amana youth center and sight-seeing the city of Dar es Salaam.

  1. Sunny greetings! Too right…

I have been dying to comment on the fact that for the first time Euro News weather forecast reported that Dar was hotter than Cairo on Wednesday. 32 in Dar and ONLY 31 in Cairo…

Euro News tells the truth my friend…
Heat is about to be on…
And we are just chilled out over here…

PS. Sweating vigorously and irrepressibly while writing this message

  2. Täällä ilmat ovatkin olleet oikein suotuisat tähän saakka. Aurinko paistanut ja lämpötilat olleet siedettäviä. Nyt se alkaa lämpenemään joulua kohden… Can’t wait!
