We have just come back from a wonderful trip to Oulu. During our stay in Oulu, we attended our farewell ceremony at our church and also had the opportunity to spend time with friends. Once again, leaving Oulu was sad, but at the same time it was great to realise how many close friends we left behind us. I guess quite often it isn’t until at times of departure that we realise just how much our close ones mean to us. Despite the thousands of miles of distance between us, we are privileged to not only remember each other in our thoughts, but also in our prayers.

Here in Helsinki we are extremely busy with preparing for the departure. We spend our days running from one place to another trying to find the proper supplies for the upcoming year. From time to time we are able to relax in the company of good friends and family. Benjy has grown a ton and now has learned to roll over from back-to-tummy and sometimes tummy-to-back as well. Tomorrow, we will attend our farewell services at the Pentecostal Church of Espoo and Espoo International Christian Fellowship (EICF).

Olemme juuri tulleet takaisin todella hienolta Oulun reissulta. Saimme viettää siellä lähtöjuhlaamme seurakunnassamme ja hyvää aikaa mahtavien ystävien kanssa. Oli taas haikeaa lähteä Oulusta, mutta samalla myös upeaa todeta, että sinne jäi paljon läheisiä ystäviä. Ehkäpä usein vasta silloin kun erotaan ystävistä huomaamme myös kuinka paljon me heistä välitämme. Tuhansien kilometrien välierosta huolimatta saamme muistaa toisiamme ajatuksin ja rukouksin.

Täällä Helsingissä lähtövalmistelut sen kun kiivastuvat. Juostaan pää kolmantena jalkana paikasta toiseen vuoden varusteluja hankkimassa ja välillä myös yritämme rauhoittua hyvien ystävien ja perheittemme seurassa. Benjy on kasvanut kovaa vauhtia ja nyt osaa jo pyöriä selältään vatsalleen ja välillä myös takaisin selälleen. Huomenna vietämme lähtöjuhlia Espoon helluntaiseurakunnassa ja Espoo International Christian Fellowshipissä (EICF).

We have happily completed our missions line studies at the Iso Kirja Bible College of Keuruu, Finland, and now are staying in Helsinki and preparing for our departure to Tanzania, Africa, on June 8th. In Tanzania,we will be working in a development cooperation programme to empower national youth ministry. Our first term will be for 2 years. During this time we will be using newsletters and our website, blog.lepojarvi.fi, to keep in touch withfriends and family. Since we don’t want to jam your mailbox, more new along with photos will be posted on our website.

Olemme onnellisesti saaneet päätökseen Iso Kirja -opiston lähetyslinjan opinnot ja tällä hetkellä majailemme Espoossa, jossa valmistaudumme Tansaniaan lähtöömme 8. kesäkuuta. Tansaniassa tulemme työskentelemään valtakunnallisessa kehitysyhteistyöohjelmassa, jonka tarkoituksena and voimauttaa paikallista nuorisotyötä. Ensimmäinen työjaksomme tulee olemaan 2 vuotta. Haluamme pitää yhteyttä ystäviimme uutiskirjeiden ja nettisivujemme, blog.lepojarvi.fi, muodossa. Koska emme halua tukkia sähköpostiasi, tulemme laittamaan suurimman osan uutisista ja kuvista nettisivuillemme.
